Sports Assistant

Job Type: Part-Time (19-25 hours/week, including nights & weekends)

Job Summary:
The Brad Akins YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Assistant to support our youth and adult sports programs. This role involves assisting with leagues, clinics, and recreational activities while ensuring a safe and positive environment for all participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of sports equipment and facilities
  • Supervise and engage with participants during practices, games, and events
  • Scorekeeping and officiating for youth and adult leagues
  • Assist coaches and officials with game-day operations
  • Enforce facility rules and program policies
  • Provide basic first aid when necessary
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Availability to work nights and weekends
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification required (training provided if needed)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of various sports and willingness to learn program guidelines
