Join us for our newest community program! Designed for expecting mothers, new moms and mothers of young children, this free program is open to both YMCA members and nonmembers. Our goal is to create a sense of community and connection for moms who are journeying through motherhood. Bring your little ones and enjoy time together while you connect with others and hear from guest speakers from the community. Our group meets every other Wednesday morning at 9:30am at the Brad Akins YMCA unless otherwise noted.
Are you a new mom looking for free activities, support, and connection in the Winder area? The Brad Akins YMCA now offers a welcoming, judgment-free space just for moms with babies and toddlers. Whether you're navigating postpartum life or simply want to meet other mothers with lap-aged children, this free community group provides fun, meaningful programs like story time, health talks, stroller walks, and more. Perfect for stay-at-home moms, expecting moms, or any mother seeking friendship and encouragement. Join us on the 2nd Wednesday (10:30am) and 4th Thursday of the month (6pm)—open to everyone, no YMCA membership required!
2026:
Beginning January 2026, we will offer one morning and one evening meetup each month!
2nd Wednesday of the month: 10:30am (refreshments will be provided)
4th Thursday of the month: 6pm (dinner will be provided)
Meetup Dates (located at the YMCA unless otherwise noted):
August 12th: Meet us at the Wimberly Center (163 MLK JR Drive Winder, GA 30680) in Winder for a special meetup from 10am - 12pm as we visit the FREE Mom & Baby Expo! Receive educational resources, grab some giveaways and enjoy time with other mamas in our community.
August 27th at 6pm: Join us for a Welcome Back dinner for moms and children at the YMCA. We will catch up on summer memories made and take a look ahead at an exciting Fall season in Mommy Meetup! Dinner will be provided.
September 9th at 10:30am: Snack n' learn - Join us for a special program with our Vice President of Aquatics, Tina, as she shares important life saving information about water safety. Tina will cover everything from having designated Water Watchers to floatation devices, CPR/First Aid and more!
September 24th at 6pm: Beth from the Winder Public Library will be stopping by our YMCA for a fun evening of Lapsit Storytime and reading with the littles! Dinner will be provided.
October 14th at 10:30am: Trick or treat at the Y! Dress the littles up and come trick-or-treat through the halls of our YMCA!
October 22nd at 6pm: BINGO! Join us for dinner and a night of Bingo. PRizes will be given to the winner of each round.
November 11th at 10:30am: Feeling Thankful - Share a morning of gratefulness with other moms as we enjoy a Thanksgiving brunch.
December 9th at 10:30am: Christmas Party - Celebrate the Christmas season as we play a game of White Elephant (bring a smal gift to share) and enjoy hot cocoa and baked goodies!
